Apparently they are redesigning a lot of elements in the game in this patch. One key feature is the removal of 'stun'. It will be replaced with something called 'stagger'. Also they've added two stairs for each keep now leading to the boss (thank god).
They've redesign the majority of the city siege mechanics and have redone keep sieges. Now instead of going around in loops claiming keeps that were already claimed 5 minutes ago. Claiming keeps now give the faction some sort of buff rather then gear. This buff is used for the city sieges or something. I'm not sure exactly how it works, but they wanted rvr to focus on rvr and not just running around claiming keeps behind your rival faction. It was boring and people weren't seeing any action. Therefore, they have tried to make city sieges much more user friendly.
There is a lot of class changes as well as several other elements like a new lighting engine and some other crap. In essence this patch will completely change how the game plays. I'm pretty sure they are doing this in a desperate attempt to get back people to the game. They've admitted themselves the game is fucked up and are trying to fix it.
With EA pushing more lay-offs. Who knows if this game will last very long. I hope it does, even though it has many bugs, environment wise I think they did a good job. It just needs a fixer upper that's all.
Age of Conan is not far off, as it seems they are doing a huge revamp as well in upcoming patches.
